1. For 30 Hour Famine, here are some important things to remember...
a. You need to pick up a form to be signed by your parents. We need permission for you to fast - whether fasting for 30 Hours or just a couple of meals or not fasting at all, we still need your parents consent.
b. Bring in your total so we can tally it up and see how far we are from our goal.
c. This Sunday, April 18, we are announcing about the Famine and setting up a booth at the Lobby. Please be there to at the booth so you can ask people for donations.

2. Tomorrow, we are side-stepping from our regular talk on Purity to talk about Fasting. What is Fasting? Why starve yourself for 30 Hours?

3. The Sunday after the Famine, we are having a Praise and Worship Night. Join us to refresh your mind this day with singing and praying with one another. Bring your friends and other youth group friends that you know!

4. For the Graduates this year, save June 19!! We are celebrating your tansition to High School or College this year with a dinner. More information to come as it draws near.

5. For those who are going to the Mission Trip this Summer, please bring your folders tomorrow night. We are meeting after the Large Group to talk about our Covenant and the things that we will be doing during the Mission Trip.

Have a glorious day and week! See y'all tomorrow!!

Devotional

Reason #24 from John Piper
Christ Suffered and Died...
To give us confident access to the Holiest Place

Hebrews 10:19 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body

Back in Moses' time, the people of God were not allowed to enter a tent where God's presence dwell. Only the High Priest was allowed to meet with God and offered sacrifices. Even the Priests were in great danger of being in the presence of God, but God allowed for them to pass through the Holiest Place covered by a curtain.

In Hebrews, we can see that through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we are now allowed to be in the Holiest Place. We can now approach God without a mediator or have someone else go for us. Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice and He did it once and for all.

But also, Hebrews tells us that there can be no forgiveness of sin without the blood of Jesus. To accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior gains us access to the Holiest Place.

Have you accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior? Without Jesus' blood there is no direct access to God's presence. It is only through Him that we can directly speak to God and be in His presence both now and forever.

Think about this: The benefit of having access to God's presence is our prayers. Does God hear or answer our prayers without the sacrifice of Jesus?

Pray: Thank God that you have access through Jesus Christ, and pray that others would know what it means for them to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior

Act: When you pray, approach God with confidence. List the things that you fear about approaching God. Next to it, put the reasons of HOW Jesus helps you approach God with confidence.
