This is done by giving monthly updates of the missionaries and the churches we support and of what and how they do the work of God assigned to them. The committee also encourages those of us who live in the comfort of our homes to obey God’s command without physically going out to the field through our financial support and prayers. It also seeks to develop musical talents, starting with the very young and continuing on through senior adults. This ministry group currently serves under the leadership of the Associate Pastor, a deacon, and a trustee, who are serving under the supervision of the Senior Pastor. "to reach out to Jr. High and High School students, pointing them to Jesus, teaching them to live a Cross-centered Life, and helping them to point others to Jesus."
The House is NFBC's youth ministry, serving Jr. High and High School students. Led by Pastor Ronel, this group meets weekly for small group and large group sessions. In addition to Pastor Ronel, The House is also blessed to have a dedicated group of servants including Pastor Ronel's wife, Kim, and Satit and Oyl Konoopakarn as well as the parents of our youth.
The Young Adults ministry was started in early 2009 by a group of NFBC's college students, college graduates, and young professionals. No longer in the youth group but not yet married with kids, NFBC's young adults recognized the importance and need of building a strong Christian community during the crucial "transition years." Throughout this year, NFBC's young adults have met for small group, prayer, and fellowship as part of their community building focus. Some of the members also served this past summer in 2GS: Second Generation Summit, an innovative third service at NFBC geared toward the young adult community from other churches in the northwest suburbs and Chicago. Most recently, the Young Adults sponsored a course on Biblical Theology.
