The time is near…July 16, 2002. I am not talking about the
end times here. I am just talking about my probable date of departure to the
Philippines. "You need to persevere so that when you have done the
will of God, you will receive what He has promised." Hebrews 10: 36 I praise God for allowing me to finish my training. I
graduated last December from language school. I am officially accepted as a
full-time missionary by NTM, on the first of January, after completing my
required paperwork and passing the interviews. My plan was to visit churches and
friends after, but the Lord had other plans for me. He knew what I could handle
at this time and for Him, I needed rest. Having to start the training at this
late stage of my life has taken its toll physically. It was a difficult three
months for me but by God's grace, I am slowly up and going again. It was a joy for me to return to language school for six weeks
to be a live language helper. There are five families that are Philippine bound
by next year, and it is exciting to assist them in learning the Visayan (Cebuano)
language. Cebuano is one of the trade languages in the Philippines. It is to my
advantage that I don't need to learn it and it will help me to be in the tribes
much sooner. I lived in America for almost thirty years now, and it is so
humbling for me that I still have a place in His work, to reach the tribal group
of my country for Christ. I am extending an invitation to you my friends, to partner
with me in this great task ahead by praying and giving. The monthly recommended
support is $2400.00. My support level at present is at 40%. I would love to
answer any questions or invitations to share. This is the procedure for sending contributions to our
headquarters – "Pay to the order of: New Tribes Mission and specify for:
